It is just north of Muskoka, 1 hour south of North Bay, 3 hours north of Toronto, and 2 hours south east of Sudbury.
The Magnetawan is the best whitewater and swiftwater rescue training river in Ontario west of the Ottawa. It has a variety of great rapids and good water volume. There are a number of different river sites that we use for training, all within a 20-minute drive of our meeting location.
The 'Mag' flows from its headwaters in Algonquin Park to Georgian Bay.
Option A - $15 per night on-site camping
Those staying on-site bring their own camping equipment and food. We’ll provide group shelters and drinking water that you can use.
Make sure you bring everything you need to cook (camp stove, etc.) as well as lots of food (there aren't any grocery stores nearby that will be open outside of course hours).
Also located on-site are bathrooms, hot showers, coin laundry, and the Swiss Country House Restaurant & Old Mill Licensed Lounge.
Option B - Stay or live elsewhere in the region
Bring a lunch and snacks to the river every day.
