Organizer

This giveaway is organized by Boreal River, 78 George St. Suite 204, Ottawa, ON K1N 5W1, Canada ("Organizer").

Open to residents of Canada and international participants.
Entrants must be 16 years of age or older at the time of entry.
Employees, contractors, representatives, or agents of Boreal River and their immediate family members are not eligible.
Void where prohibited by law.

The giveaway begins on September 24, 2025 at 12:00 PM (EST) and ends on October 4, 2025 at 3:30 PM (EST) (the "Raffle Period").

To enter, participants must complete the official entry form during the Raffle Period.
No purchase necessary.
Limit: One (1) entry per person.

Full tuition for one eligible Boreal River Rescue course of the winner's choice. If the selected course includes lodging or equipment rentals, we will cover those costs too if you want them. The winner will also receive a $500 MEC gift card.
Eligible courses:
- Ice Safety and Rescue (ISR) - 2 days
- Whitewater Rescue Technician (WRT) Levels I, II, & III - 5 days
- WRT-Recertification Level III - 3-days
- Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) - 4 days
- Wilderness First Responder (WFR) - 8 days or Hybrid (5-days in person + 30 hours online)
- WFR Recertification - 3 or 4 days

Referral bonus: If the randomly selected winner was referred by another entrant, the referrer will also win the same prize package.
Social sharing bonus: Entrants who share Boreal River Rescue's official Instagram Reel announcing the raffle launch to their Instagram Story and tag @borealriverrescue will be eligible to receive an additional $100 added to the MEC gift card portion of the prize if selected as a winner. For private accounts, proof of the Story (e.g., screenshot) may need to be provided to validate the share.
Approximate retail value: up to $2,800 CAD each (depending on which course the winner chooses) plus the possibility of an additional $100 CAD MEC gift card bonus.
Course type restriction: The prize may be applied only to Boreal River Rescue's existing course types that are part of our standard program offerings at the time the raffle closes. The prize cannot be applied to new course types and offerings introduced after the Raffle Period.
Validity: The tuition, lodging, and gear rental credit must be used within one (1) year from the date the winner is confirmed. After this period, the prize will no longer be valid.
Transferability: The prize is transferable within the one-year period, provided it is gifted in full to another individual. Partial transfers or resale are not permitted.
General terms: Prizes are non-refundable and have no cash value. A maximum of two (2) prizes may be awarded (winner + eligible referrer).

A random draw will take place on October 4, 2025 at 4:00 PM (EST) from all eligible entries.
We will notify the winner(s) via email.
To be confirmed as a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
The selected winner(s) must respond by October 20th, 11:59 pm (EST) (10 business days from selection). If Boreal River does not receive a response in the allotted timeframe, another entrant will be drawn. The eligible referrer will be notified once a response from the winner is received.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

By entering, participants consent to the collection and use of their personal information for the administration of this giveaway.
Entrants may also choose to receive marketing communications by checking the consent box on the entry form.
Personal information will be managed in accordance with Boreal River's Privacy Policy.

Boreal River reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the raffle if fraud, technical failures, or other issues compromise its integrity.
The organizer is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries, or for technical errors of any kind.
Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this giveaway may result in disqualification.

By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Boreal River Trips Inc., its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any liability related to participation in the giveaway or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.

The giveaway is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, the Province of Quebéc (for Quebéc residents), and the federal laws of Canada.

In Quebéc, contest materials are made available in both English and French in accordance with the Charter of the French Language. In the event of a discrepancy, the French version shall prevail for Quebéc residents.
