Workplace Safety Courses
Boreal River Rescue is a WSIB Ontario-approved first aid training provider
WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) Ontario has modernized their first aid program to improve the quality and consistency of training across the province. One of the key changes to the program is to broaden their network of training providers - and that now includes Boreal River Rescue.
All our wilderness medicine courses meet WSIB’s first aid training requirements.

What does this mean for employers?
If you’re an Ontario employer, regulation 1101 of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act states, “All employers covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act are required to have first aid equipment, facilities and trained personnel in all workplaces.”
That certified training for your workers can now come from one of Boreal River Rescue’s courses.

The first aid curriculum we deliver is from Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA). All WMA’s programs meet applicable Canadian workplace health and safety standards.

Do you work in Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, or Nunavut?
These locations also accept our wilderness first aid courses for their workplace first aid requirements. And you don’t have to take the course in the province where you work: courses delivered anywhere in Canada fulfill the jurisdictional requirements of these approving authorities.
Boreal River Rescue is an Affiliate Provider of WMA Canada, which is an approved first aid training provider under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) First Aid Program in Ontario.
