Rental equipment

- Wetsuit (full-length arms & legs, fleece-lined) - $63

- Rescue PFD with quick-release harness, knife, and whistle - $40
Course site
The meeting location on day-1 is: Upper Gatineau River Camp, GPS Coordinates: 46.319964, -75.943007. It is 20 minutes south of Maniwaki / 1.5 hours north of Ottawa and Gatineau.
The upper Gatineau River is a beautiful stretch of wilderness river about 100km upstream of Ottawa/Gatineau between the towns of Maniwaki and Bouchette. This section has great whitewater all season long. Numerous channels and a variety of rapids provide excellent training sites. Our course meeting spot is a private camp on the west side of the river between the famous 'Lucifer' and 'Du Corbeau' rapids.
Lodging
Option A - $20 per night on-site camping
Those staying on-site bring their own camping equipment and food. We’ll provide group shelters and drinking water that you can use. Make sure you bring everything you need to cook (camp stove, etc.).
There are also several restaurants and large grocery stores in Maniwaki (20 minutes from the site).
Option B - Stay or live elsewhere in the region
Bring a lunch and snacks to the river every day.
Two hotels in Maniwaki (20 minutes from course meeting location) with nearby restaurants offer our students a discounted rate*.
