Rental equipment
Some equipment can be rented directly from Paddler Co-op. Prices are in Canadian dollars and include rental for your whole course:
- Wetsuit (full length arms & legs, fleece-lined) – $79
- Helmet – $15
- Rescue PFD (with ‘quick-release’ harness) – $50
Course site
There are a number of great whitewater rescue training sites around the Madawaska River and Palmer Rapids area that we will choose from depending on water levels.
The meeting location on day-1 is: Paddler Co-op
6535 Palmer Road Palmer Rapids, ON, K0J 2E0
We’ll start at our meeting spot with some on-land training. We’ll then transition to our first river site. For the rest of the course, the instructor will let you know about meeting locations for each day depending on water levels.
Lodging
Option A – On-site camping
Camping is available through Paddler Co-op for $15 per night. Payments can be made directly to Paddler Co-op when you arrive onsite or you can book your campsite here.
Those staying on-site bring their own camping equipment and food. Don’t forget your toque and sweater for relaxing evenings around the campfire.
Option B – Stay or live elsewhere in the region
There are a variety of accommodations in the surrounding areas. You can also check out Airbnb for other options. Bring lunch and snacks to the river every day.
